Development of a computer software system to assess the economic potential of petroleum exploration.

摘要

The objective of the thesis is to develop a computer software system to assess the economic potential of petroleum exploration. Seven integrated computer programs are developed and documented, comprising the PETROL software system for use on IBM or IBM-compatible micro-computers. Three of the programs are main programs which perform the economic evaluation of individual petroleum fields (PETROL 1), the statistical analysis of field variables (PETROL 2), and the assessment of the potential value of petroleum exploration (PETROL 3). The other four are chained programs which accomplish the input of the data base for economic evaluation (PETROLINP), the computation of development and production characteristics (PETROLCALC), the output of evaluation results (PETROLPRNT), and the management of the arrays used in the system (PETROLCOM).
