摘要

Background/Objectives:Depression is very common psychiatric illness in developed and developing countries. Due to its clinical and heterogeneity disorder it has been very a hazard to explain its pathophysiology. In western medicine clinical investigation and laboratory work indicate that depression equates with dyes regulation of neurotransmitter signals and can be healed by taking antidepressant drugs with higher relapse rate and face some serious health problems. However the understanding of depression is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine theory in which medicine and acupuncture have unique methods, the overall adjustment to the safety instructions are important to known. Therefore the article presents to introduce, compare and contrast with different cognition and treatment of depression in Western medicine and make a systematic evaluation of the treatment of the disease.
  Methods/Statistical analysis: Chinese traditional medicine (TCM) presents that depression as a manifestation and dysfunction of liver and spleen in maintaining the free flow of stagnant Qi. Chinese Acupuncture has been shown to be just as effective in studies as more conventional methods (psychotherapy and anti-depressant drugs) for treating depression. In this dissertation, provide review on Chinese's acupuncture theoretica l origin and its treatment protocols. Discuss about western medicalacupuncture WMA, comparison and mentioned the schematic diagram of depression for understanding of its functionality and work.
  Application/Improvements: Finally, we concluded that practitioner suggesting Chinese acupuncture is more beneficial than western medicine therapy, during the course of treatment for depression.
