摘要

The experience on silicone housings for high voltage applications lasts already for more than three decades. In case of composite insulators, solutions are investigated, which result in lower complexity and smaller dimensions of the whole apparatus. The silicone housing can be designed with a high flexibility of shape and different additives. Thus, field control can be achieved by means of the design of the siliconehousing and the shape of the insulator flanges instead of including a separate grading electrode. Also integrated parts of the design of the component, such as electrodes or flanges into the insulator enables a more sophisticated design compared to conventional applications. This article describes a method, to provide a more competitive solution for high voltage apparatus.
