NON-CERAMIC INSULATOR TECHNOLOGY: FCI'S QUALITY, DESIGN SERVICE EXPERIENCE

The development, production and application of composite insulators in Hungary is going back to the early seventies which can be regarded as stage of appearance or initial trial of non-ceramic insulators. Our so called first generation insulators specially those ones which have been produced in Hungary by applying silicone rubber weathershed system, have already survived more than 20 years in service. The early development and production has been made by the predecessor of present FCI Furukawa Composite Insulator Ltd. The main items of our present technology and design have been finalised through several development steps and three more generations on the eighties and early nineties. Only some of the most important steps are shown below, for detail see already presented publications.
