The Underground Research Laboratory (URL) Project is an integral part of the Deep Geological Disposal Programme in the Czech Republic. The construction of URL in Pribram region is proposed with the utilisation of a former uranium shaft which was used for excavation of a deep underground gas storage in 90s. Due to previous activities position of main water conducting features (WCF) at the site are known and their extent can be well predicted. Construction of the underground gas storage provided unique data and experience concerning behaviour of granitic rocks in the depth of 1 km. Methods of WCF characterisation and their representation in hydraulic and transport models will be important part of URL activities.
