The basement hydrocarbon reservoirs in Damintun Depressionin Liaohe Basin mainly are fractured reservoirs. Thehydrocarbon accumulation is closely related with fracturedevelopment. The basement fracture development isdominated by lithology and structure. In the paper, thebasement fracture development regulations are disclosed bythe methods such as palaeostructure stress field, fracturefractal geometry qualitative analysis, image logging and dipanglelogging interpretation and seismic multi-seismicattributes fracture identification. The fracture developmentzones are located near the faulting belts, crossing and complexpositions of many faults, thrust structures and the turning pointof the anticline structure. Fractured reservoirs are mainlydeveloped in Mid-Proterozoic carbonate and quartzite; inArchaezoic granulite or magmatite; while the fracturedreservoirs of argillaceous, schist and intrusive rock in thatstage are less developed. Stratigraphic unconformities, areoften the weathered crusts exposed on the earth for a longtime, which undergo strong leaching and weathering for a longtime resulting in well developed fractures and caves, whereare the likely places for oil and gas accumulation in thebasement fractured reservoir. The fractures are predicted andidentified based on the fracture development regulations andseismic multi-attributes inversion.
