The investigations of adsorption from binary liquid mixtures on MCM-41 silicas are presented. Two mesoporous silica sieves were synthesized using ammonia as catalyst. n-Octadecylammonium bromide and n-dodecylammonium bromide were used as template reagents. The porosity of both silica samples was characterized by nitrogen adsorption-desorption method. The specific surface area was calculated using the BET equation. The parameters characterizing the structure of studied sorbents were estimated from adsorption data using the a_s method. For mesoporous MCM-41 samples the specific excess adsorption isotherms from methanol + benzene and benzene + cyclohexane mixtures were measured within the whole concentration range at 293 K using a static method. The adsorption isotherms from binary mixtures were interpreted in terms of adsorption model involving energetic heterogeneity of the studied systems.
