A Monitoring Scheme for North-Finder with Strapdown Gyroscope

摘要

A monitoring scheme for north-finder with strapdown gyroscope is presented in this paper. In this scheme, a multi-position rotating table is designed to mouldate the gyro's angular speed input and build the mathematical model. Furthermore, the orthogonal least squares estimation is applied to minimize the effect of gyro's random drift. Error caused by base tilt is eliminated by analytical leveling. The whole process is controlled by computer to achieve omnibearing automatic north finding.
