To analyze the control effect of the hard tectonic structure to the coal stress and gas in coal heading face,two physical mechanical model are established:the normal coal heading and the hard tectonic structure containing coal seam heading.Then the numerical simulation analysis is carried but using the rock fracture finite element software RF-PA2D-GAS,which has solid-gas coupling analysis module.Finally,it gives two field examples to describe the simulating results.The results show that:The hard tectonic structure increases the range of the stress concentration zone and the degree of the stress gradient in coal heading face;Like a "closed gate",the stress concentration zone further reduces the gas permeability of the influenced coal in the stress concentration zone.This seriously limits the normal migration of the gas form the deeper part to the free face and forms a very high gas pressure gradient near the hard tectonic structure;So,the hard tectonic structure provides favorable conditions for the occurrence of coal and gas outburst.
