The concept of chain entanglement provides the basis of our current understanding of the flow behaviour of polymer melts and solutions. Many distinguished works have been based on control of the extent of entanglement. However, an intriguing question concerns characterization of the degree of entanglement below and around the glass transition temperature (Tg) of a polymer, is still not tackled.
