'York Imperial'(Aalus domestic Borkh.) apple seedlings were grown in a nutrient solution at high K, normal K and low K. The low K supply (39 ppm)reduced the mineral composition of N, K and chlorophyll content in the leaves. Increasing the K in solution from 78 to 117 ppm had no antagonistic effect on the accumulation of Ca and Mg in the leaves. But plants which received 0.5 to 1 ppm BA developed leaves side in disagreement over the symptoms after 2 weeks of growth in treatment solutions. However, spray of BA at 0.5, 1, 10 ppm increased fresh weight, total leaf area, shoot length and dry weight of leaves, roots and stems.
