Using the high resolution PEA method to measure the space charge distribution in anti-ESD polymers under dc electric fields revealed the following:rn1. The internal space charge can compensate the external applied electric field by accumulating, at each surface of the polymer, with a polarity opposite that of the electrode attached to the surface.rn2. When the density of the polymer solid electrolyte is low, the space charge accumulation at the center part of the specimen tends to result in a residual charge distribution.rn3. The polymer structure is influenced by the quantity of polymer solid electrolyte, and the facility of internal charge transportation depends not only on the quantity of the polymer sold electrolyte but also on the polymer structure.
