Refracturing wells, completed in the Codell formation, hasrncaused a resurrection in activity in the Wattenberg Field of thernDenver-Juleseburg (D-J) Basin. HS Resources (HSR) hasrnincreased average oil and gas rates by greater than 500% byrnrestimulating over 750 Codell wells. The evolution of appliedrnfracturing fluid technology has played a major role in thernsuccess of the Codell refrac program.rnThis paper will identify and evaluate the benefits to wellrnperformance and economics gained from the evolution ofrnfluids used in the Codell refracture program. In this effect, thernfluid systems will be compared using treating pressurerncharacteristics, production analysis, fluid properties, andrnrheological property evaluation via specialized testingrnapparatus and economic results.
