EXTENDED ANALYTICAL MODEL FOR CALCULATING THE QUALITY OF SERVICE (QoS) IN A MOBILE SATELLITE SYSTEM (MSS) WITH A GUARANTEED HANDOVER (GH) SERVICE

This paper presents an analytical model that explores the Quality of Service of a satellite constellation operating according to the guaranteed handover procedure, GH, exposed in a former paper [1]. Here, the model takes into consideration the rotation of the earth, and therefore can be applied to constellations where the earth rotation effect is not negligible with respect to that of satellite velocity. Hence it applies both to LEO and MEO constellations, and not LEO only, as with former models.
