Transformer tank is the main target of on-line transformer monitoring system and the disposition of measuring points on tank has been one of the most prominent issues to acquire more accuracy signals which can reflect transformer condition better. In this paper, it is used a method of the structure liked plate and shell vibrating power flow to study the tank response characteristics. After the analysis of characteristics of transformer vibration, a finite element model of SZ9-20000/35 transformer tank is presented to research the power flow of tank vibration which is transmitted by core. Consequently power transmission and its distribution of tank is acquired which provides theoretical and experimental foundation of on-line transformer monitoring system using non-electrical method.
