The feasibility lens wear studies using an LC-MS DDA based approach show that relative lipid deposition profile can be influenced by lens material properties. More specifically this study demonstrated the significant influence of the lens surface on the extent of lipid deposition for both polar and non-polar lipids. This approach to assessing material related lipid deposition profile is a useful way to support new lens material research. Further work is needed to overcome the challenges faced with the shotgun nano-ESI infusion based approaches. Collaborative work with software originators to overcome the MS/MS precursor accurate mass issue with DIA. Sample prep optimization to overcome the complex matrix issues for short wear times due to package solution or cleaning solution surfactants.
