PARAGON was developed to support risk-informed decision making at nuclear power plants for all modes of operation, using a blended approach to risk assessments. This software is advancing the risk assessment technologies initially developed for configuration risk management (risk monitoring) into other aspects of risk-informed management. PARAGON provides for quantitative risk assessments using PRAs and qualitative assessments using assessment trees and other logic structures. Users of the tool include personnel in planning, scheduling, operations, PRA and management. Current software technology is being used to support viability far into the future.
