Information Retrieval Using Ontology for Sharing Knowledge on Safety

摘要

It is difficult for public citizens interested in some technology-related risks or safety to access technical knowledge accumulated by specialists without any guidance. Since ontology can be a good guidance for the purpose, we discuss what properties such ontology must have, taking nuclear safety ontology as an example. Using the ontology, we then develop an IR system for nuclear safety issues in order to facilitate public access to technical documents on nuclear safety.
