The main idea of catastrophe theory is briefly introduced, and the two analytical methods of which for the analysis of accident progress are discussed together with the given of some practical application cases, the two analytical methods are based on catastrophe potential function and catastrophe manifold respectively. Moreover the mehtod of safety dynamic analysis and evalaution based on catastrophe theory is studied together with its application case.
