INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND INTERAL/EXTERNAL DATABASE LINKAGES IN THE CONTEXT OF A DEVELOPING COUNTRY (PAKISTAN)

摘要

This Paper reviews current practices and future possibilities of the captioned linkages by thoroughly analyzing the existing situation in various Organizations in the background of a developing country (Pakistan). The Paper is based on a diagnosis of deep-rooted problems that continue to be faced in concerned Government Organizations (which are partly a consequence of brain drain in the field of IT). It is well embedded in the educational background of the Author and a profound understanding of the working of the concerned Organizations. Because of similar administrative set ups, the planning mode! (for FATA Secretariat) proposed in Paper, which is also under execution independently through a Private consultancy, mostly takes into account the line of action suggested in the Paper is fully replicatable by the four Provincial Governments and also the Federal Government of the country. Other developing countries may have similarities and some of the solutions offered may have relevance for them.
