The dual-driving feed system is widely used in high-end CNC machine tools for the good feeding precision and reliability, but it has a high requirement for synchronous control strategies owing to the unavoidable synchronization error. A dual-driving synchronization control strategy based on feed error compensation is proposed in this paper for dual-driving feed system. The compensation of feed error is aimed at the improvement of synchronization accuracy and feed accuracy, which is achieved by virtual shaft and electronic cam. Firstly, the feed error is measured and the error compensation model is established. Then the principle of the synchronization control strategy based on feed error compensation is introduced. Finally, the feed error compensation experiment is carried out to prove the effectiveness of this control strategy.
