The relationship between the characteristics of the acoustic cavitation noise and the viscosity of the liquids is investigated to consider the viability of the viscosity measurement based on the acoustic cavitation dynamics. The spectra of acoustic emission from the bubbles generated in water, water-glycerol mixture, and water-surfactant mixture are measured and compared. As a result, it is found that the ratio between sum of all the power of harmonics and the power of the broadband noise would be a good indicator of the viscosity.
