Recognizing gender differences in stack overflow usage: Applying the Bechdel test

Investigating gender participation in socio-technical ecosystems has been a popular challenge recently. However, tackling this feat requires an understanding of community features and participation to appropriately serve users. In this work, I describe work I've done to understand the Stack Overflow community for females and propose research to determine gender differences in communication on the site using the Bechdel test. To evaluate this test I explain how I adapt the three criteria of the Bechdel test to analyze Stack Overflow interactions.
