These results indicate that primary cilia are present in human lung adenocarcinoma cells and are necessary for cell survival, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, and migration in the dynamic mechanical environment of the lung. This study may provide therapeutic targets for treating non-small cell lung cancer adenocarcinomas. This work was funded through the Jeffress Memorial Trust Award and the American Cancer Society Institutional Research Grant to R. L. Heise
