摘要

The malformation and the asymmetrical opening behavior of the leaflet could lead to a deviated jet flow (off-centered) which could impinge on the walls of the aorta resulting in a higher localized stresses on the aortic wall. The FSI analysis is simulated under physiologically realistic Reynolds numbers in order to analyze for the flow-induced stresses on the ascending aorta in patients with BAV. It can be anticipated that the flow dynamics arising under such conditions necessitates a high density fluid mesh. The simulations are being performed using a parallel algorithm in order to distribute the computations to several hundreds of processors thus providing us with the luxury of using millions of grid points and at the same time saving on computational time.
