摘要

JPEG technology is the main technology of image compression now. At present, about 80% of images in the world are compressed with JPEG. Therefore, JPEG compression technology is the most popular technology at present, and the way to effective compress image is also the hot topic. The purpose of this topic is to conduct technology improvement on the discrete cosine transform with the periodicity and symmetry o f cosine function based on the JPEG compression technology, thus improving the efficiency of image compression rate and the transform. Experimental results indicate that this improvement can really improve the rate of image compression
