The effects of calcium on defensive-related enzymes activity induced by exogenous methyl jasmonate in tomato against botrytis cinerea were investigated. Sprayed by exogenous CaCl2 or EGTA and combined with MeJA, leaves of tomato were infected by Botrytis cinerea three days later. Calcium on defense enzymes of physiological indicators by MeJA in tomato was explored during the next five days. The results show MeJA can improve defensive-related enzymes activity on resistance to Botrytis cinerea; sprayed exogenous CaCl2 further enhance MeJA on the level of defensiverelated enzymes activity in tomato against botrytis cinerea; while EGTA inhibit the induction of the above. Description of calcium in the MeJA-induced resistance to Botrytis cinerea of tomato has a regulatory role. The regulatory role may be related to calcium increasing the capacity of tomato defense induced by MeJA.
