High elasticity asphalt sand used in the intermediate layer of deck pavement

High elasticity asphalt sand which also is stress absorbed layer as intermediate layer was put between the deck and the asphalt concrete, slow down stress difference between asphalt concrete and deck through superior deformation coordination ability, could reduced the shearing force, reduced to the bonding power request, thus reduced deck pavement destruction. Asphalt sand and composite structure performances were carried out by mechanical analysis and laboratory experiment. The result indicated that, this kind of composite structure had the good anti-distortion ability, could reduce the shearing force of deck pavement 30%, the low temperature performance and the water stable performance satisfied the request, and in order to ensure the high temperature performance, intermediate layer thickness should between 1∼2.5cm. This research proposed a new deck pavement structure, provided the reference for the future deck pavement.
