摘要

A high resolution probe that allows localized Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (LEIS) has been developed. In this apper some possible applications of the use of LEIS in the study of the degradation of organic coating on metal surfaces are presented. It is shown that LEIS can be successfully applied to locate micro-blisters on painted metal surfaces. It is also shown that the technique can be useful in order to obtain mechanistic information on the kinetics of activation and passivation of metals in the vicinity of a defect in an organic coating.
