An inverse analysis method has already been proposed by one of the authors to identify elastic parameters of laminated composite materials using the FEM eigenvalue analysis. The purpose of this study is to apply the proposed method to a laminatedsquare plate and to compare the estimated elastic parameters with the obtained experimental ones. First, by applying the experimental modal analysis technique to a laminated square plate with free boundary conditions, natural frequencies and mode shapesare obtained. Next, by using the obtained natural frequencies, the elastic parameters for the lamina of the plate are identified. On the other hand, we obtain the elastic parameters of the lamina experimentally. These experimental elastic parameters werecompared, and found to agree well, with the elastic parameters identified using the proposed method.
