摘要

This study investigated the impact of smartphone-delivered multi-modal information (SMMI) on commute drivers' in-trip mode switch behavior. This was based on a Shanghai stated preference survey of drive vs. subway park-and-ride (SP&R) choice under SMMI. SMMI provides travel time for auto and SP&R, delay for auto, cause of delay, SP&R cost, and comfort level of rail transit. A generalized estimating equations-based analysis was conducted to address the potential correlations between repeated observations from the same individual. Results showed that SMMI can significantly influence mode switch and significant influential factors are gender, education level, usual commute mode, dynamic information access frequency, driving frequency, SP&R use experience, seat availability in subway cars, real-time road condition, auto delay, and SP&R cost. Moreover, this study applied the developed behavioral model to predict market shares of SP&R under various SP&R promoting policies, thus obtaining policy implications for transportation planning and management.
