As one of the critical components of intrusion detection devices, the performance of the pyroelectric infrared sensor directly affects the performance of various types of intrusion detectors. In the process of performance progression, strict selection of suitable pyroelectric infrared sensor is essential to intrusion detection device. The performance of the passive infrared intrusion detectors, active infrared intrusion detectors, combined microwave and passive infrared intrusion detector and other intrusion detection devices will be effectively improved by analyzing working principle, material properties and structural design of the pyroelectric infrared sensors, designing and selecting the pyroelectric infrared sensor base on the specific requirements of security protection alarm and actual situation of designated area.
