Brownfield Regeneration:A Study Inspired by the Brownfield in the Original Core of Cities

The post-industrial era comes since cities expand massively.As a result, brownfield sites appeared in the original core of urban area, with factories moved out or been derelict.The issue, how to reuse of these sites high efficiently has been raised.This study dedicated to explore the practical solutions to make brownfield sites be in harmony with the complicated urban forms as well as comply with the features of brownfield regeneration.Based on the factual project—Landscape reconstruction in the original Tractor Manufacture of Tianjin (TMT), this paper produced a research on regenerating the brownfield in the original core of cities.In addition, it came up with a series of strategies, including reproducing the initial industrial elements, refreshing the landscape structure, introducing the vibrant factors, and renovating the ecosystem to avoid being disturbed etc.The primary aim of the study is to summarize the reasonable design practice for brownfield regeneration and provide referential experience for similar projects in the future.
