The Study About The Earthquake Disaster Reconstruction In Taiwan Daring 1895-1945

In Taiwan, the City improvement project which was the condition of being based around the town government had developed daring Japanese colonial period.Taiwan has been suffered from the earthquake disaster repeatedly as well as Japan.Thereby,the measures against earthquakes had been changing the architectural structure in the town and city.For example, in the Tainan state, the affected area was stricken by the great Jiayi earthquake, the article 6 of the Tainan state low showed quite detailed rules about the architectural structure as bylaws of the article 4 of the Taiwan housing regulations in 1928.The width of under the eaves walk way and the height and the width dimension of a column and the way of paving walk ways were independently regulated in each town.Then, the structure which was constructed by a stone brick or a steel or a reinforced concrete was regulated, and also the pitch of a roof was regulated in the article 7 of the Tainan state low in 1929.As this model, the long contiguous street-houses was completed in accordance with those rules in Suehiro-cho Tainan in 1931.In this way, this thesis clarified about what measures to be taken against damages from the earthquake in the City improvement project.
