The effect of Mo content on creep behavior of Ti-5. 8A1-4. 0Sn-3. 5Zr-0. 4Mo-0. 4Si-0. 4Nb-0. 4Ta-0. 05C alloy was investigated Creep experiments were performed in tension at 600°C/160 MPa. The results revealed that increase of Mo content may cause increase of both the steady-state creep rate and residual strain. It was found that,under the present test condition,creep is controlled by the interface sliding and elemental diffusion along α platelet boundary. The decreased creep resistance with increasing Mo content is attributed to the increased density of the α/β lath interfaces and volume fraction of the α phase, which leads to less precipitation and shape change of silicide and results in weakened pinning of α/β lath interfaces from the silicide.
