Online Pellet Analysis -Impact for Polymer Production and Extrusion

Today in modern polymer plants the control of the pellets itself is done online with a direct feedback to the production process. Criteria of the analysis are the colour, the contamination and the size and shape distribution of the pellets. Sophisticated online measurement methods and devices with an emphasis on the morphology of the pellets will be discussed in detail. Especially the dust and angle hair content have a big influence on the pellet production process. The converting and extrusion companies - the customers of the polymer plants - put more and more emphasis on "clean" and round pellets. These features have a huge impact on the output, the quality and the gel level of the extrusion process. In a more technically advanced and competitive environment these criteria are getting more importance than ever.
