摘要

Statistics have shown that young people in Mauritius have the tendency to stay single for longer. The number of marriages registered in year 2008 has declined by 3.7% compared to 2007. One of the possible reasons behind this is that they tend to focus much on their career and their work. They barely have time to socialise and eventually find it hard to find lifetime partners. This paper proposes the design of an adaptive mobile social application using Bluetooth technology (BDATE) that aims at aiding social interaction between Mauritians using mobile phones. BDATE notifies users when people they would like, are in nearby proximity. A prototype has been implemented and evaluated.
