Oral Cyclosporine A formulation for chronic immunosuppression: Implication of nanotechnology in reducing nephrotoxicity

Cyclosporine A, a potent high molecular weight cyclic peptide, was loaded into PLGA nanoparticles (NPs) employing Vitamin ETPGS as stabilizer. This nanoparticulate formulation was evaluated for its chronic nephrotoxicity profile. Results revealed that the nanoparticulate formulation exhibited significantly lower nephrotoxicity as compared to the commercial formulation.
