ON THE WATERFLOODING EXPLOITATION OF CARBONATENATURALLY FRACTURED RESERVOIRS

Compositional naturally fractured 3D simulations studies are presented for the mexicanFenix and Giraldas gas condensate fields, aimed at investigating the effect on the high condensatecontent recovery of these fields of a very active aquifer (average reservoir pressure above the dew pointpressure (DPP) during the 20 years producing history of the reservoir), and of water injection in alimited aquifer, for the former and the latter respectively. Both fields, the Fenix and the giant Giraldas,are currently at an advanced exploitation stage (20 and 22 years), resulting in a extensive productiondata set for this study.
