Eco-terrorism is an international problem that has occurred fairly recently and it is growingrapidly. Its specific elements include victimization of innocent people in the name of the environment.There are several loosely connected groups and individuals responsible for eco-terrorism. Theideology is strongly pro-nature and anti-civilization. The nature of the criminal acts cause them to bedifficult and expensive to investigate and law enforcement agencies have had only limited success. Inspite of these problems there are a number of responses that can be undertaken by governments, lawenforcement and industry in order to recognize the extent of the problem, initiate actions to deter theoffences and prepare for a criminal attack.
