A computationally efficient procedure for simulating the spacial dynamic responses of general railway vehicle-bridge system under wind load is developed in this paper. Taken into account the space relevancy of wind along spanwise of bridge, the turbulent wind speed curve in various points of the bridge are simulated, the critical wind speed at which the railway on bridge must be closed is analyzed both from the running safety and comfort of train in motion on bridge. A detailed dynamic response analysis is made for the vehicle-bridge system of the Yangtze River Bridge at Nanjing and high speed train on Jinghu High Speed Railway Lien which is to be built in our country, and the warning & closed wind speed are obtained with the objective of ensuring the running safety and comfort of trains which are to pass by the bridge in strong wind.
