The technology of the polymerization from DCPD to PDCPD by RIM has been studied in this paper. DCPD can be modified by thermal polymerization, and the optimum reaction conditions, achieved by Gas Chromatography and Differential Scanning Calorimetry, are that the reaction temperature is 418K and the reaction period is 4 hours. The PDCPD-RIM catalyst has been studied by cross-over experiment and the optimum conditions of the polymerization are that the ratio of WCU to DCPD is 173 and the ratio of Et_2AlCl to DCPD is 47. The optimum proportion of catalyst system is that acetylacetone to WCl_6 is 3.0 and n-butyl ether to Et_2AlCl is 3.0.
