Granular materials unsuitable for base course or subbase must be often utilized recently due to the lack of good quality materials. There is also a strong need to reuse the materials composing demolished construction materials, especially, asphalt mixtures and cement concrete, in pavement construction. As the specification on their utilization has not been framed for airport pavement construction in Japan, several kinds of experiments were conducted. For the low quality soil material, its usage by stabilizing with lime was studied, and the applicability of this material in the base course and subbase was evaluated. In addition, the mechanical properties of aggregates reproduced from the demolished concrete were examined to be used as the subbase. For the demolished asphalt mixtures, several types of mixtures were assessed in an effort to ensure their applicability to the surface course, binder course and base course. The mechanicald properties of the recycled asphalt mixtures, as well as both the physical and chemical properties of the asphalt recovered from the mixtures were examined.
