Research and Engineering Practice of Asphalt Pavement Surface for Changchun-Siping Expressway

Grading system of anti-skid asphalt pavement surface is compiled in specifications of asphalt pavement construction. Type AK anti-skid grading recommended by the specification, that is the successful experience of non-freezing area, if it is adopted for Changchun-Siping Expressway Project located in cold area northern of Shenyang city. Firstly, percent of voids for Type AK-B is relatively higher, the durability is always worried; Secondly, the structural depth of Type AK-A is slightly lower and performance is not quite satisfactory. Trial freeze-thaw loop test (See Table 1) proved our anticipated results, while percent of voids Vv > 4percent, the freeze-thaw loop durability is obviously decreased.
