Current needs for cost-effective methods for pavement management have led to the development of a computer program, namely REDAPS III (REhabilitation Design of Asphalt Pavement Systems version 3), for mechanistic analysis and design of flexible pavements using nondestructive testing techniques. The basic principles and analytical models used in the REDAPS III program are described in this paper. Two case studies in which REDAPS III was used to evaluate existing pavements in Florida are presented. The first case study involved the use of a Dynaflect test system, while the second study used a Falling Weight Deflectometer test system. REDAPS III was found to operate reliably and efficiently, and to be very user-friendly. The appropriateness and effectiveness of the procedures used by the program were verified through comparison of the analysis results with the field survey results.
