By application of PSR conceptual model framework and in accordance with the AHP method, the mining ecological security evaluation index system including 22 indicators was put forward after analyzing the mine ecological safety system. Mining area ecological security evaluation model was set up based on principal component projection method. On the basis of the dimensionless and the appropriate weighting, the duplication of information among indexes was eliminated by orthogonal transformation. Then an ideal evaluation samples was put forward by making use of every principal component and the corresponding evaluation samples were projected to the ideal evaluation samples vector. Finally the mining ecological safety situation was analyzed according to the size of projection value.
