Data validation of PAMS auto-GC VOC data: lessons learned

We have performed data validation of continuous volatile organic compound (VOC) data collected with automated gas chromatograph(auto-GCs) systems as a part of the Photochemical Assessment Monitoring Station (PAMS) network in Connecticult. using a graphical platform form which to display the data, we performed quality control tasks on the data and began data analyses. The hourly concentrations of the PAMS target species were displayed in several ways including scatter plots, fingerprints, and time series. Using scatter plots, we investigated the relationship between species at one site or at a pair of istes. Fingerprint plots show the concentration of each species in a sample (in approximately elution order) and help to identify unique characteristics of the smplex.
