摘要

Hunan exposure to volatile organic compound (VOC) vapors emitted by several types of marker pens, both indelible and erasable, was studied experimentally and by modeling. VOCs emitted by the pens were identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, and airborne VOC concentrations resulting from pen emissions during typical usage scenarios were measured in a room-size controlled-environment chamber. A variety of VOCs including alcohols, methyl ketone, the isometric xylenes, and ethylbenzene, were emitted by different types and brands of pens.
