Picosecond investigation of an electrostatically complexed porphyrin-viologen aggregate

Abstract: Zn-Tetraphenylporphyrin-(SO$+$MIN$/$-3$/)$-4$/ forms two types of complexes with a covalently linked viologenanthraquinone (VA) compound both in H$-2$/O and methanol. In both complexes fluorescence quenching occurs on a time scale $LS 10 ps and 0.5 ns, respectively, and its tentatively assigned to photo-induced electron transfer from porphyrin to VA.!8
