How to securely distribute a company's secret key to its n authorized departments is of much importance in company information management and E-commerce. For each authorized department, there is a partial or sub-secret key. Suppose there are a number of persons in an authorized department and each person has an access level to this sub-secret key. The task of secret sharing considered in this paper is to make the company's secret key be reconstructed completely from all sub-secret keys in the department. Instead of traditional method, this paper presents a novel secret sharing scheme that is mainly based on the complexity of semigroup structures. The proposed scheme can also be employed to other scenarios where multi-level secret sharing is needed.
